Timelines, Run Times and More - All You Need To Know For Avengers: End Game
“You Trust Me? I do”
WHAT A SCENE! Just as Steve Rodgers is shown putting his trust in Tony Stark, I am putting my full trust in Marvel to deliver the most extraordinary finale to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s crazy to think how far we have come, after 21 films and billions of box office dollars, the MCU will culminate with Avengers: End Game…and the wait is almost over.
With the film’s release edging closer, more and more news has been surfacing around the film. Marvel have done a great job with the marketing thus far, but in-case you may have missed some cool little bits, let’s take a look at what we know so far going into Avengers: End Game.

RUN TIME
There was much speculation around how long End Game was going to be. It is the culmination of over a decade of films, so a lot of people were expecting a long run time. Well it’s been confirmed that Avengers: End Game will be 3 hours and 2 mins long (am I the only one slightly turned on by hearing this?). I’m quite glad this is confirmed, because it tells me there will be time spent for emotional character moments, along with great action, bringing this saga to a close in spectacular fashion.

With less than a month to go, tickets for Avengers: End Game are now on sale! To
announce ticket sales, Marvel released a one-minute trailer for the film (which
you should have seen by now), showing off almost all-new footage and it looks
AMAZING. There are reunions, tears, and some great narration, not to mention
our first look at Thanos in this film. It looks like the Avengers are finally assembling.
If you haven yet done so, watch the new footage below:

STORY
Appropriately, Marvel have given little away in the trailers
when it comes to plot, but they have given us glimpses of a few cool set-pieces
and moments in the film. We know that Tony
and Nebula make it back to Earth
(thank god)…but how and when in the film remains to be seen. It’s tricky to say
what type of role Thanos will have in
the film, but a popular theory is that the Avengers will confront him twice,
once very early on and the other towards the end of the film. It’s amazing how
little plot they have given away, and in a sense it’s made everyone all the
more excited because we genuinely don’t know how this will play out. The only thing
I ask for is that Captain America
finally says those iconic words…”Avengers Assemble”!
TIMELINES
It’s all a bit confusing at the minute, but a common
assumption is there are time jumps, but where in the timeline all the events
(confronting Thanos, Tony coming back, planning to bring all
the dusted characters back) occur is a bit of a mystery. Black Widow’s hair, Cap’s beard, it’s all change. Ant Man’s involvement with the quantum
realm however, has seen a lot of fan theories speculate that time travel could
play a big part in End Game. However
(or whenever) the Avengers resolve the snap – it’s going to be amazing to see.
DUSTED CHARACTERS
Just in case you weren’t sure who was actually still alive,
Marvel released a collection of character posters (see below) – with the dusted character
posters in black and white, and the living character posters in full colour.
Most of them are pretty standard, but there are a few surprises – we learn that
Shuri has actually been dusted (looks
like its only Banner in terms of the
smarts then). But we also learn that Pepper
Pots is alive (which is going to make for some emotional viewing when her
and Tony are reunited), along with Wong (quite powerful) and Valkeri (we haven’t seen her full
capabilities yet). RUN TIME

With tickets now on sale, opening weekend seats have been
mostly sold out with ticketing websites unable to handle the volume of traffic.
It’s easy to see how hyped fans and the general movie-going audience are for
this film and I’m pretty certain this film will smash box office records when
it releases. Hopefully now you’re mostly caught up going into End Game, although once you’re in the
cinema, all theories are out the window and anything could happen…and I have
faith in Marvel and the Russo Brothers to deliver something spectacular.
