1260 AM !!!! My Love for Bollywood Music :D
Coming
from an Indian background has meant that I have grown to be very fond
of Bollywood music. Not a day goes by when I don’t listen to a song from the
extravagant world of Bollywood. From the fast paced, vibrant, and energetic songs that really get me dancing, to the slow, elegant love songs that really get me thinking, and everything in between, contemporary Bollywood is the type of music that really gets me in my zone. As Leicester is such a multi-cultural city, and home to a lot of families from an Asian background, the desi music
scene has had a real opportunity to thrive in this diverse city.
All through my childhood, I can
remember being in my mums car, and I would here “1260 AM, Sabras radiooo”.
Sabras radio is seen by many has the pioneer for Asian radio in the UK, and its
growing popularity has can be seen as an indication of the hunger for desi
music genres. Its 1st broadcast was in 1976, with Sabras winning its
own licence in 1994. It broadcasts throughout the east midlands, and some other
cities in the Midlands. To be completely honest, I'm not the best at keeping up to date with current songs and all so the songs I usually listen to are "old" (by old I mean they've been out for a few years). Dilli Wali Girlfriend for example is a song I'm particularly into right now (link below):

Love songs are also great-the gentle, elegant rhythms always put a smile on my face. Agar Tum Mil Jao, Ishqa Wala Love, are just a couple I like but my favourite has to be Lal Dupatta!! I could literally listen to that song for ages and not get bored <3
Just on a tangent, I find it odd that I love listening to Bollywood songs yet hardly watch Bollywood films...weird or?
You might be able to tell I'm new to blogging...hopefully my posts will get better once I get in the flow. Anyways, for now I'll just finish with Bollywood > Bhangra #MyOpinion :D
